  Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Baker Who Refused to Bake Cake for Gay Couple

  seems like such an obviously correct decision to overturn the previous overreach - it should never have been necessary to go to the supreme court but happened because the rights of the religious were being ignored.. as the fundamental level, no one should be able to compel you to work for them or to provide services that go against your beliefs, and certainly not have the government be able to force you to comply.. if this was allowed there would be so many unreconcilable situations that would clog up courts over nonsense.. i also have little patience for these activists that intentionally look to be offended.

  it really doesn't do their cause any good to go round looking to make trouble for people.

  These gay activists could use their time in a better way. Instead of trying to force other people to accept them and wasting our court systems valuable time, they should look at the opportunity before them. They can open a bakery to serve the gay community and everyone else or not. If they decide to serve exclusively gay people, that's fine with me. From a business point of view, it'd be stupid, but they would have the right to serve whomever they want. And I would defend that right.
  

  No, I am not a homophobe. I support gay marriage all the way without reservation, but I am opposed to people playing victims when they are not. They are just plain obnoxious.

  Any private business should be able to discriminate on the basis of whatever they want, race included. It's stupid and bad for the bottom line, but it should be a protected right to handle my business in whichever stupid way I want. That's true freedom from government tyranny. But that's just me. Go ahead and hit the dislikes.

  into minute 18 and so far I can't figure out where the hell Mark is going with the rambling.... it gets better in minute 19. They are having problems with unmotivated people. Solution: go out in service, pray and read the Bible. Don't think too much about the direction of the chariot, just jump in and move along

  How the hell do they burn so much money so fast? As was said before, money flows only one way in this organization . Other non-profits return the money to the members and the community in the form of services, such assistance to the poor with food, housing, employment, summer camps for kids, help to victims of domestic violence, drug addiction and alcoholism problems. And those non-profits actually pay salaries. The Watchtower appeared to spend most of it on printed publications. Now that's practically gone. Most of the labor is provided by volunteers. They even hardly pay the people that go out to give speeches or oversee congregations. The congregations themselves take care of that expense. It's a money scam, it has to be.

  Nothing new if we compare it to last year or the previous recent years, but it certainly is the opposite trend of decades ago (say the 90,s or even early 2,000's).

  What’s your favorite "News" website?

  news in general are supposed to be unbiased.

  but given how commercial and political interests get their tentacles around them, finding a fully unbiased news website is not so easy.. here in america some would rather trust bbc or reuters than they do cnn or fox news.

  any favorites?.

  Regarding politics and government, it's hopeless. The so called news section is actually op-ed pieces, some times subtle and well disguised, others just flagrant op-ed pieces passing for news articles. What we can do is cover the whole spectrum and do some sort of "averaging". But not enough time for that, so I have turned to tending my own garden instead, a private and productive activity (paraphrasing Voltaire's Candide)
